If you are asking yourself a question, how to make money blogging for beginners – this article is for you. it can be a little tricky to get started, but it’s definitely doable.
In this post, I’m going to teach you the basics of how to make money blogging.
If you follow these tips, you’ll be on your way! So without further ado, let’s get started.
What is blogging?
In case you’re new to the term, blogging is simply writing articles on a website that are read by other people.
In many cases, bloggers make money through advertising, affiliate marketing, or selling their own products and services.
Why blog?
There are a number of reasons why people start blogging.
Some people do it for the love of writing, passion for the niche, while others see it as a way to make money.
No matter what your reason is, blogging can be a great way to share your thoughts and ideas with the world.
How do I start a blog?
Starting a blog is actually pretty easy. There are a number of platforms you can choose from, but I would recommend starting with Bluehost. It’s a reliable website hosting company I have been with for years. It’s also easy to set up, and you can buy a domain name at the same time. Saves you time and effort!
Once you’ve signed up for hosting and got your domain name, buy a theme that you like – my favorite theme marketplace is Themeforest.
Install WordPress on your Bluehost cPanel, install the theme that you bought, and voila! You are ready to go.
How to make money blogging for beginners
Absolutely! First, when you start a blog, making money seems extremely difficult.
However, over time it gets easier and you improve. There’s a learning curve that’s involved, but if you do it right then you can make money with your blog.
Here are the top 5 ways to make money blogging:
Advertising
You can make money from advertising with display ads on your blog.
You can sign up for programs like Google Adsense, Media.net, Ezoic, etc.
Some ad networks have entry requirements, meaning you need to acquire a certain amount of traffic before they will accept you.
In general, ads are a great way to monetize a blog once you have at least a few thousand page views per month.
You will start seeing some pennies coming in, which can motivate you to keep going!
Once your blog is more established and you get 50,000+ page views per month, you can apply to better ad networks that pay you more, such as Mediavine and Adthrive.
This is when you will start seeing some serious money coming in.
Affiliate marketing
Join affiliate programs and promote their products on your site.
There are affiliate programs for all kinds of different products and services.
If you have a blog about fitness, for example, you could join an affiliate program for a weight loss supplement.
When someone clicks your link and buys the supplement, you earn a commission.
Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways to monetize my blog.
You can recommend things that you actually like and use, and you can start earning even with a small audience.
Just make sure the affiliate products are related to your niche and be genuine – don’t try to sell your audience everything at the same time, but rather focus on a few products that you know and that can solve issues your audience is facing.
Here are some popular affiliate networks to consider:
Products
Another way to make money from your blog is to sell your own products. This could be in the form of eBooks, printables, online workshops, or even physical products.
Determine what are the biggest problems and pain points your readers have and create a product that solves that issue.
For example, if your blog is about vegetarian recipes, then you could write an ebook called “50 Unique Vegetarian Dinners in 30 Minutes”.
You can set up a shop on your blog, using services like Gumroad or Shopify to sell your products.
Selling your own products is a great form of passive income.
I know beginner bloggers usually find this idea intimidating, but you should not overlook it.
A product can often become your best income earner.
Services
Another way to make money from your blog is to offer services.
This could be anything from social media management to copywriting to web design, or anything that’s related to your niche.
If you have skills and knowledge that you can offer others, create a services page on your blog.
Be sure to list what services you offer and why clients should choose you.
Additionally, you can also use a service like Fiverr to find clients for your business.
Sponsored posts/ brand partnerships
Another way to make money blogging is by writing sponsored posts.
You can approach companies (or join influencer networks such as LTK) to work with them to create content about their products.
Brands pay bloggers and influencers all the time to review their products and create content promoting them.
It can be anything from social media posts to blog articles.
The great thing about collaborating with brands is that you can choose what fits your niche, and the payouts are often high.
Which monetization method should you focus on?
If you’ve started a blog and want to make money, I recommend you don’t put your eggs in one basket.
Try different ways to monetize your blog – ads, affiliate links, selling a product – whatever combination works for you.
Ultimately you want to be sure that your blog will keep making money even if one of the income streams suddenly stops working.
What next?
Blogging is an ongoing journey.
Keep working on your blog – to successfully make money with your blog, you need to consistently create new content.
It takes time to start seeing traffic, and even more time for your audience to trust you and start buying what you’re selling.
The key is being persistent.
Don’t have unrealistic expectations – give yourself a year to start seeing results.
If you do stick with it and create helpful content in your niche – you will definitely see growth within one year.
