Cinco De Mayo is honestly one of the best holidays to dress for! The whole vibe is colorful and fun and festive. But figuring out what to actually wear is where people get stuck. Do you go full Mexican style or keep it casual? Both are fine honestly.

These Cinco De Mayo outfits are just ideas that feel appropriate for the holiday without trying too hard. Sometimes it’s an embroidered dress and sometimes it’s just a striped top with jeans. The point is having some color and some energy. That’s really it.

I have some stunning looks here that are all different. Some are dressed up and some are super casual but they all work for the holiday!

Colorful Floral Maxi Dress

This dress does everything for you. The colors are so happy and the florals make it feel very Cinco De Mayo without even trying. Just put it on and you’re ready. I’d wear this to an outdoor brunch and not change a thing. Sometimes one good dress is all you need.

Stripe Maxi Dress With Wide Brim Hat

The hat makes this. Wide brim plus a flowy striped maxi is giving market-in-Mexico energy and I love it. The crossbody bag keeps it practical without ruining the vibe. Throw on some big hoops and this is done. Really effortless looking outfit.

Festive Tee And Colorful Pants

Not trying to wear a dress? This is your answer. The graphic tee with those vertical stripe pants looks festive but still super comfortable. You could wear this to a house party or honestly just out running errands on May 5th. White sneakers with this and you’re good to go.

Off Shoulder Top With White Shorts

Those long yellow earrings are everything here. The striped off-shoulder top with white shorts already looks great but the earrings take it somewhere else. This is perfect for a rooftop situation. Heels make it more dressed up but strappy sandals work too if you’re moving around a lot.

Simple Striped Midi Dress

I didn’t expect to like something this simple so much but here we are. It’s fitted and clean and the stripes do all the festive work. You don’t have to think too hard about this one. Works for dinner, works for a lowkey hang. Really easy outfit.

Mexico Flag Colors Jersey And Ruffle Mini

Green, white, and red – someone really thought this through. The ruffle skirt is cute and the red sneakers keep it casual and fun. This is the outfit for walking around all day without being uncomfortable. Great for a block party or any outdoor Cinco De Mayo event.

White Floral Embroidered Dress

White with flower embroidery is such a classic Mexican fashion thing and it looks so beautiful. This dress feels connected to the culture in a way that’s really special. Simple sandals and gold jewelry and that’s it – the dress does the rest. Really dreamy looking.

Matching Tees With Your Friend

Okay you have to send this to your best friend right now. Matching Cinco De Mayo tees with jean shorts is such a fun idea and the Mexican-style earrings make it feel thoughtful not just themed. This is giving us-at-the-festival-having-the-most-fun energy. Coordinate the earrings too and make it a whole moment.

Magenta Off Shoulder Top And Green Headscarf

That green headscarf knotted at the front is the detail that makes this whole look. The magenta top against blue jeans is already a great color combo but the scarf takes it to another level. Really bold without being over the top. This would photograph so well at any Cinco De Mayo event.

Floral Maxi Skirt With White Top

That navy skirt with the bold florals is so dramatic in the best way. The white balloon sleeve crop top is very classic Mexican style – it’s off-shoulder and airy and pairs with the skirt perfectly. The dark and light contrast looks really intentional. Gold hoops with this and you’re honestly serving.

Striped Two Piece Set

White with red and green stripes in fabric – so light and fresh looking. The red belt is what ties it together and keeps the silhouette from going too loose. This is a really good outfit for warm weather celebrations because you won’t be dying of heat. Special but not overdressed.

Coral Off Shoulder Top And Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans with a coral off-shoulder top sounds simple but it comes out looking really good. The heels make it feel like an actual Cinco De Mayo outfit. This is for the person who doesn’t want to wear a dress but still wants to look put together. Layered gold necklaces would go perfectly here.

Bell Bottoms And Multicolor Kimono Shirt

White flares with a multicolor kimono top – this is the retro Cinco De Mayo look nobody asked for but everyone needed. The 70s energy mixed with all those colors is such a fun and unexpected combination. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to wear your bell bottoms this is it. Really different from everything else on this list.

Embroidered Black Blouse With Denim Shorts

Embroidered black blouse with light denim shorts – why did I not think of this combination sooner. The embroidery brings so much detail and cultural richness to a really casual base. Great for a festival or outdoor event where you want to look intentional but stay cool. Add some colorful bracelets and the look is complete.

Green Multicolor Embroidered Dress

This dress is so beautiful. The green with all those bright embroidered details looks like something you’d actually keep and rewear for years. It doesn’t feel like a costume – it feels like real fashion. Simple sandals and a straw bag are all you need. People will ask where you got it for sure.

Bohemian Two Piece With Platform Shoes

The platform shoes and brown clutch matching each other is such a good styling move. The embroidered boho two piece set already has a lot going on and the earthy accessories ground it perfectly. This feels like folk style done in a very modern way. Whoever put this together understood the assignment completely.

Stunning Vertical Stripe Halter Dress

Vertical stripes in a halter neck cut – this is giving beachy and festive at the same time. The pink tones through all those colors make it feel warm and summery. It’s the kind of dress you just grab when you want to look like you know what you’re doing. Strappy heeled sandals and a small bag and that’s the whole outfit.

Fitted Black Embroidered Mini With Slit

If you want to look dressed up without doing the colorful thing – this is the one. Black fitted mini with embroidery and a slit. The embroidery connects it to Mexican style and the cut makes it feel like a night-out look. Strappy heels and a bold red lip and you walk in like you own the place.

Colorful Stripe Blouse With Black Ripped Jeans

Black ripped jeans with a colorful horizontal stripe off-shoulder blouse – this works so well and I kind of love that it surprises you. The dark jeans against all those festive colors looks modern and cool. This is for the person who wants to celebrate but still wants to feel like themselves. Small hoops and you’re done.

High Waisted Jeans And Colorful Cardigan

High-waisted light blue jeans with a white tee and a multicolor cardigan – this is basically just how some people dress every day and that’s exactly why it works. The cardigan and colorful jewelry bring the festive energy without making it feel like a costume. Really good for a brunch where you’re not sure how dressed up everyone is getting. Wear what feels like you.
