Okay so short nails are actually having their moment right now! I see them everywhere on instagram and tiktok. Your manicure doesn’t need to be long to be cute, which is something i wish i knew earlier. Short nails fit into real life better anyway.
There are so many ways to do spring nails when they’re short. Pastels always work. Florals are classic and never disappoint. A “short spring manicure” is basically any cute spring design that fits on nails under a certain length. People used to think short nails meant you couldn’t do nail art. That’s so wrong though! These designs prove you can have amazing spring nails without the extra length. Plus short nails look good holding your iced coffee or whatever you’re drinking this season.
Bee Garden Vibes
Nude color as the base here. Little bees and daisies are painted all over. Squoval is the shape i picked for tehse short nails. The bees are so tiny and cute! Everything fits without looking too crowded somehow. Nature stuff always looks good on spring nails.
Citrus Cutie
All white except one nail has a lemon on it. Very fresh and summer-like. That yellow really stands out against white. It’s simple but people always notice it and smile. Fruit on nails doesn’t get enough love in the spring!
Pastel Swirl Magic
Abstract swirls in pastels. Pink mixed with blue and yellow and purple too. Square shape makes it modern looking. They remind me of marble or maybe tie-dye – artsy but not trying too hard to be artsy, you know?
Soft Pink Florals
The pink is super light and soft. Large artsy flowers scattered around – details are minimal which works for shorter nails. Perfect for when you want subtle.
Rainbow French Fun

Blueberry Dreams
Looove some blueberries on my nails! Purple base and white base mixed with tiny blueberry designs! The blueberries are adorable, no other word for it. Oval nails are softer. Fruit nail art on nails is my favorite thing. Cute for brunch or the farmers market.
Pink Hibiscus Pop
Nude everywhere except one big pink hibiscus flower. Tropical but on short nails. The flower is detailed and fills up the whole nail pretty much. Makes regular days feel like vacation days, and who doesn’t want that?
Plaid Daisy Combo
White nails, pink nails, nude nails. Plaid patterns on some. Daisies on others. Mixing patterns usually doesn’t work but this does. The plaid colors are soft pastels – spring-y because of the daisies, plus I like variety across all my nails.
Milky Floral
Milky white that’s kind of see-through and glowy. Pink flowers painted by hand. They’re delicate and small. Squoval nails because honestly they’re the best shape. Everything looks clean and fresh.
Mint Chrome Accent
Mint green on all of nails with gold chrome finish – super fun and dreamy. Chrome nails are super shiny and catch light. The mint is perfect for spring. Simple, yet effective.
Sage Daisy Garden
I love sage green as base color. White daisies everywhere are very spring. This green is so popular right now. The daisies are just scattered randomly wherever. total cottagecore aesthetic for sure. Makes me actually want to go plant real flowers.
Mint Leaf Beauty
Nude as the base. Mint leaves painted on with daisies too. White and yellowfor the daisies. Two different designs mixed together makes it look like a garden. Short squoval nails work great. Natural and simple.
Pastel Flower Party
White base with flowers in pastels. Each nail has different colored flowers. Pink ones, purple ones, yellow, blue. All painted by hand and a bit artistic looking! Every single nail is unique. Like a spring bouquet.
Ditsy Floral Print
Mint green with super tiny flowers all over. The flowers are scattered like on fabric. Ditsy floral is what this pattern is called, i learned that. Looks vintage like old wallpaper – different from regular flower nails and really cute.
Grid Garden
Neutral shade with white lines making a grid, then flowers inside the grid squares. The grid looks like a fence or lattice thing. Flowers peek through the spaces. Creative way to do a floral design. Reminds me of gardens with trellises.
Purple Butterfly Moment
Simple french tips, then one nail or two have a purple butterfly on it. The butterfly has little patterns and details inside. French tips make short nails look longer somehow. Purple is soft and pretty here and works so well with cutesy little butterflies.
Striped Coral Flower Nails
For this design I went with coral as the base, then white stripes going across each nail. Blue little flowers painted on top of some stripes. Stripes plus florals is a fun combo, way more interesting than just basic flower nails
Polka Dot Pastels
Nude base with dots everywhere. Pastel dots in pink and blue and yellow and purple. Polka dots are super easy to paint. Playful and sweet looking.
Lavender Glitter Tips
For this look do lavender on the whole nail and gold glitter thin line only on the tips. The glitter sparkles when light hits it. Lavender is one of the best spring colors ever, plus glitter makes it a bit fancy. Simple design but it works really well.
