Are you tired of the moody browns and other dark fall nail colors? Are you ready to embrace the jolliest season of the year with some cute, sparkly nail art? Well, us too.

And don’t get me wrong – fall nail designs are definitely fun and beautiful to create, but after 3 months of dark nail colors, we’re just ready for some uplifting December nails trends to take over our feed.

Wondering what’s trending this December? It’s all about Christmas nail art, some more bold others more subtle, also some blue shades and silver tones with snowflakes for welcoming the winter, and of course, glitter to really celebrate the upcoming Holidays.

Let’s get into the December nails ideas below (and there’s something for everyone to choose from).

Christmas Glitter Nails With Red Ribbon Design

Okay but imagine walking into the family gift exchange with these fine silver glitter nails with adorable swirly red ribbon tied up like presents – I’d feel like the main character. I’m lowkey obsessed with the tiny ribbon detail and specifically how it’s so minimalistic yet has so much Christmas energy. All you need are two nail polishes and a liner brush (and maybe a steady hand, ha).

Red Glittery December Nails

I didn’t expect to love plain red glitter this much but wow, it hits different in December after all the dark autumn nail designs. Just light and sparkly – feels a bit like fresh snow reflecting Christmas lights. I’d rock these all December long, but obviously especially over the Holidays.

Snowy Elements And Reindeers

What if your nails looked a little snowy and a little whimsical this December? Sign me up. These little reindeers faces are so cute I can’t. Save this vibe for when you drive up to the mountains – perfect for sipping peppermint mochas by the fire. It’s all about that bright shade of red that makes the look extra joyful and cutesy.

Red Glitter Nails With Santa Hat Tip

The Santa hat tips? A classic by now. But make it special – add lots of glitter! These say that yes, in fact, you DO like that Mariah Carey song, and you’re not at all ashamed of it. Pair with your ugly Christmas sweater and ugly-cry to Home Alone with me.

Red Chrome And Snowy Holly Accents

This look is both super sophisticated and joyful as well – the red chrome is already fire but add snowy polka dots and holly accents? I felt fancy just looking at the pic. I’d wear these to the winter powwow and let the metallic catch the drum light. Or just any other day of the week, honestly.

Fancy Blue Glitter Nails With Snowflakes

December doesn’t have to be all red and green, contrary to popular belief. These STUNNING blue glitter nails with hand-painted snowflakes is giving icy queen energy and I’m soooo here for it. It’s a breathtaking winter wonderland nails look and you’ll stand out from the crowd, guaranteed!

Peppermint Swirl Nails

Peppermint swirls on my nails? Love it. Super cheerful and delicious-looking. Smells nothing like candy but looks good enough to eat. Simple enough to recreate too, you just have to draw some swirly red lines over a cateye/fine glitter base.

Forest Green Nails With Christmas Gift Bow

Green nails are always a given nearing Christmas time, and these forest green nails with French tips and a tiny gift wrap bow on the index finger – why is this so adorable? Yo ucan add a hint of glitter to make it even more luxurious.

3D Christmas Lights Nails

This set is for the one who want to go bold – 3D Christmas lights actually on nails – I need this energy in my life. It’s a look that’s guaranteed to make people around you smile. Save this for New Year’s Eve selfies.

Blue Ombre Starry Night Nails

Yo udon’t have to go super bold just because it’s December – if you’re looking for a calmer set, this one might be for you. Blue ombre fading into neutral base, with shimmery chrome finish and golden stars like starry night sky – jaw dropped. This is what I want when I want that celestial vibe on my nails.

Red And Green With Colorful Rhinestones

Red and green but make it extra extra with rainbow rhinestones – looking almost like vintage baubles on a Christmas tree. A one of a kind look. Great for when you wanna be extra at the ugly sweater party.

Glazed Donut French Nails With Red Bows

A very calm set that’s still very suitable for December – glazed donut French tips have been around for a while but with red bows? I’m in love. So girly and quietly joyful holiday edition. Wear with your favorite cozy sweaters.

Red Velvet Snowflake Nails

Soemthing about red velvet texture makes it look very Christmassy, you know? And with white snowflakes it’s just a perfect look. Kinda like curling up with a romance novel and fairy lights. All you need is a red cateye gel nail polish and some snowflake drawing skills.

Champagne Glitter Square Nails With Snowflakes

Love these for a fancy look – champagne glitter square nails make you look extra glamorous and expensive. The snowflakes keep it wintry – wear these to the NYE countdown and feel gorgeous.

Gray And Silver Glitter With Black Snowflake

Like a winter storm rolling in. Perfect for when you wanna match the cloudy sky and your vibe. Gray and silver glitter combo with one black snowflake over white base is giving moody in the best way.

Dark Green Sweater Nails With Holly And Snowflakes

Sweater nails trend is still going strong, especially combined with other fun Christmas related accents, just like here – dark green sweater texture with holly berries and snowflakes is a cozy overload. I wanna knit by the woodstove with these on.

Bright Whimsical Christmas Accents

These whimsical accents are pure love and joy – like a kid decorated your nails and we’re not mad about it.. Christmas lights, reindeer faces with hearts, tiny stars – it just works. If you’re looking for something uplifting, these will match the energy.

Pink Gingerbread Cookie Nails

Pink gingerbread cookies on my nails? This design might just be my spirit animal. Smells like sugar even if it doesn’t. Who said pink is not a Christmas color?

Glacier Effect Nails

The shimmery gel polish swirled around to create this textured glacier effect – the nails look like frozen waterfalls and I’m mesmerized. Feels super calm in a hectic season. Great for someone who wants more of a winter vibe than a Christmas vibe.

Black Glitter Snowflake Nails

Black festive nails? Sounds like a job for glitter. This stunning black glitter polish looks slightly edgy but vcery luxurious at the same time, with floating black snowflakes giving midnight magic. Literally the cutest moody December nails set ever.
