Summer Nails Trends for 2026 That Are Seriously So Good

There’s a specific feeling I get when I look down at my hands and my nails actually match the season. Summer nails just hit different, they should be bright or juicy or have a little cherry on them or something. I got really into doing my own nail art last year and now I can’t stop, I’ve done cow print, jelly nails, little daisies, all of it.

Right now I’m obsessed with the encapsulated jelly trend, especially combined with some tiny gold foil flakes or flowers where there are actual tiny dried flowers sealed inside the gel, it looks insane in real life. And I’m also really into the gold chrome with sunflower accent nails which feels very elevated and expensive-looking. Here’s everything I’ve been saving for summer 2026.

What’s Trending for Summer Nails 2026

This summer is all about color, texture, and a little bit of personality on every nail. A few big themes I’m seeing everywhere right now:

  • Jelly nails – sheer, glossy finishes in coral, pink, and aqua
  • Fruit and food art – cherries, lemons, strawberries, and watermelon
  • Beach and coastal themes – gold icons, ocean ombres, tropical flowers
  • Retro and Y2K vibes – checkers, swirls, smiley faces, butterflies
  • Soft florals – dainty painted flowers on sheer or nude bases
  • Chrome and metallic – especially gold chrome with accent art
  • Pastel ombres – blended lavender, peach, mint, and coral
  • Cottagecore – mushrooms, daisies, gingham, sage green
  • Bold color blocking – neons, cobalt blue, hot pink
  • Reinvented French tips – wavy edges, colorful tips, skinny lines

Watermelon Jelly Nails Are Having a Major Moment

1 Sheer jelly nails in watermelon pink with floating glitter and gold foil flakes_bp

Okay so these are sheer pink jelly nails with gold foil flakes and little bits of glitter floating inside and I am obsessed. They look so juicy and glossy, kind of like hard candy but for your nails. I’ve wanted to try jelly nails for so long and this watermelon pink color is the one that’s finally gonna make me do it.

Purple Florals That Make Every Day Feel Like a Garden Party

2 purple floral summer nails_bp

Some of the nails are solid bright purple and the other ones are sheer with little painted flowers on them. The pink flowers have green leaves and they look so pretty against that orchid purple. It’s one of those sets that feels very summer without being too much, which I think is hard to get right.

Cherry on Top: Butter Yellow Never Looked This Good

3 butter yellow with red cherries_bp

I love a fruit nail and these butter yellow ones with red cherries on them are so so cute. Each nail has a little painted cherry with a green stem and it gives off this really happy picnic-in-the-country kind of feeling. Honestly this one is not even that hard to do yourself, which makes me like it even more.

Mix It Up: Lavender and Aqua Are the Duo You Need

4 lavender and aqua colors with cute flowers_bp

Lavender and aqua together is a combo I didn’t know I needed until I saw this set. Some nails are solid lavender, some are solid aqua, and the accent nails have cute little multicolored flowers on a clear base. It’s playful but still pretty and feminine, which is exactly what I want for summer.

Smiley Face Nails Because Good Vibes Only

5 yellow and lavender cheerful nails with checkers and smiley face_bp

There is a checkerboard pattern in yellow and lavender on most of the nails and then one nail has a smiley face on it and I think that’s the best thing ever. The two colors go together way better than you’d expect and the little smiley just makes the whole set feel really fun. If your nails can make other people smile too then I think that’s a win.

Y2K Butterfly Nails Are Back and Better Than Ever

6 Y2K-inspired butterfly nails with iridescent wings and rhinestone embellishments_bp

These nails have butterflies made from iridescent gems arranged in a wing shape and there are holographic dots scattered everywhere. It’s very early 2000s but in a way that feels current and cool rather than dated. Y2K stuff just keeps coming back and I think at this point we have to accept that it never really left.

Retro Orange Overload (in the Best Way)

7 bright orange with cutesy retro accents – checkers, florals, swirls and stars_bp

Every single nail is doing something different on this set, there’s checkers, swirls, little flowers, and stars, all in bright orange. It sounds like a lot but somehow the orange ties everything together and it works. This is the kind of manicure that makes strangers ask you about your nails and I love that for it.

Golden Chrome Meets Sunflowers and I’m Obsessed

8 Sun-kissed golden chrome nails with tiny hand-painted sunflowers on accent fingers_bp

The base is a golden chrome that looks like a mirror and then the accent nails have hand painted sunflowers right on top of it. Honestly I stared at this picture for way too long because it’s just so beautiful. Chrome is tricky to do at home but a look like this makes it so worth going to a salon for.

Coral Jelly Nails for That Glazed Donut Moment

9 jelly nails in a soft coral tone_bp

Nothing too complicated here, just a sheer peachy coral jelly finish that makes your nails look really glossy and healthy. The color works on basically every skin tone which I always think is worth mentioning. Sometimes the simplest nail ideas are the prettiest ones and this is proof of that.

Cow Print But Make It Lavender

10 Cow print nails with a twist using pastel lilac and classic black_bp

So it’s regular cow print but instead of regular colors it’s pastel lavender with black spots and the result is way cuter than classic cow print. I think the lavender is what makes it feel fresh and fun instead of just being a gimmick. Quirky nails that are also genuinely pretty are kind of rare and this one pulls it off.

Simple Summer Florals on a Neutral Base

11 cute almond nails with summer florals_bp

Each nail has a different flower on it, like one has a pink daisy, one has a white one, one has a little purple flower, and they all sit on a natural sheer base with tiny leaves. It feels like a little garden when you look at all your nails together. The mismatched flowers are a small detail but they make such a big difference.

The French Tip Glow-Up: Wavy Blue and Violet Tips

12 French manicure reinvented with a wavy colorful tip in electric blue and violet_bp

Regular French tips are fine but wavy electric blue and violet tips are so much better. Instead of a clean straight line the tip follows this organic wavy shape and it completely changes the vibe. This is honestly one of the easiest ways to make a simple nail look really cool and artistic.

Iridescent Pearl Nails for That Mermaid Core Look

13 Iridescent pearl nails with holographic shimmer that shifts from pink to blue in the light_bp

Short round nails covered in a shimmer that shifts from pink to blue depending on how the light hits them. There’s no art, no details, just that one gorgeous finish and it’s enough. These are giving mermaid and soft girl at the same time and I think about them more than I should.

Neon Color Block for When You Want to Be Seen

14 Bold color-block nails alternating neon yellow and hot pink with clean geometric lines_bp

Hot pink and neon lime green in big color blocks, some nails solid pink, some solid lime, and some split diagonally with both colors. It’s very loud and I mean that as a compliment. Wear these with a plain white outfit and you don’t even need accessories.

Lavender Swirl Tips That Are Low-Key Dreamy

15 lavender nails with petal shaped french tips_bp

On some nails there’s a solid lavender color and on others the lavender swirls across a sheer pink base in this really flowing, pretty way. The mix of the solid nails and the swirly accent nails makes the whole set look very intentional and editorial. I think this is one of those designs that looks really complicated but isn’t quite as hard as it seems.

Lemon Slice Nails for Your Main Character Summer

16 Lemon slice nail art on a bright yellow base with hand-drawn citrus details_bp

Bright yellow base with big lemon slices painted on each nail showing all the little segments inside. The detail on the lemons is really clean and precise and the yellow is such a happy, energetic color. This one is giving Italian summer vibes and I want to wear it on a boat with a glass of lemonade.

Rainbow Ombre Stilettos That Say “I Mean Business”

17 long stiletto bright summer colors ombre_bp

Long stiletto nails where each nail is its own individual ombre, purple to pink on one, pink to orange on another, yellow-green on another, and together they make a whole rainbow across your hand. It’s a lot of nail and I respect the commitment. If you want to make a real statement this summer this set will do it.

Sunset Gradient Nails That Literally Glow

18 Sunset gradient nails fading from deep coral to golden yellow to soft rose_bp

This ombre set blends deep coral into hot pink into golden yellow into soft rose and it looks exactly like a sunset. Some nails are more vibrant and others are softer and more sheer, so there’s variation across the hand which makes it look really dynamic. I want to wear these on a beach at golden hour so badly.

Mint Green with Pink Hibiscus Is a Dream Combo

19 mint green nail with white and pink detailed flowers and botanical accents_bp

Most of the nails are a soft mint green and then two accent nails have hand-painted pink hibiscus flowers on them, plus one sheer nail with just green leaves. The hibiscus flowers are painted so well and the mint green is that perfect in-between shade that’s not too bright and not too muted. Tropical nail art can go wrong really easily but this one gets it exactly right.

Beach Icon Nails on a Minty Base

20 mint green-blue with gold beach accents – ocean wave, palm tree, sun, starfish,seashell_bp

Each nail has a different gold beach symbol painted on a soft mint background, a palm tree on one, a wave on another, a sun, a starfish, a seashell. What I love about this is that the gold keeps it feeling elegant instead of touristy. I would honestly wear this set year round, not just at the beach.

Ocean Ombre Nails for the Blue Obsessed

21 ocean ombre from navy blue to aqua at the tips_bp

Dark navy at the base of the nail fading up into bright aqua at the tip and it looks just like the ocean from above. The gradient is so smooth which matters a lot because choppy ombre always looks a bit off. If blue is your color and you want something dramatic but not busy this is the perfect set.

Strawberry Summer Nails That Are So Freaking Cute

22 pink and red strawberry nails_bp

Red French tips on some nails, tiny painted strawberries on others, pink swirls on another one, and little white daisies scattered in, all on sheer and natural pink bases. Everything stays in the red and pink family so even though there’s a lot going on it still feels cohesive. This is very much giving “strawberry print tote bag” energy and I mean that in the best way.

Hot Pink Meets Tortoiseshell and It Works Perfectly

23 pink nails with abstract tortoiseshell pattern_bp

Bold hot pink on most nails and then sheer accent nails with an abstract tortoiseshell pattern in brown, amber, and black. It sounds like a weird combo but the tortoiseshell adds something sophisticated that actually balances the bright pink out really well. Kind of like wearing a blazer with a neon top, it just works.

70s Swirl Nails in Terracotta and Orange

24 Retro 70s-inspired swirl nails in terracotta, burnt orange, and cream_bp

Terracotta and burnt orange and cream swirling across each nail in these big fluid curves and it is so groovy and retro. There’s no small detail here, the swirls take up the whole nail and I love how committed the design is. It looks really advanced but it’s mostly just curved lines and honestly a steady hand.

Sage Green with Little Oranges? Yes Please

25 sage green and white with oranges and floral accent_bp

Sage green on most of the nails, a checker accent nail, a nail with a painted orange fruit on it, a white daisy nail, and a French tip variation with a tiny orange. All of it together gives off this really charming farmers market vibe that I wasn’t expecting to love as much as I do. The orange against the muted sage is such a good color combination that I don’t see enough.

A Whole Beach Scene on Your Nails

26 beach nails in pink and light blue with large tropical flower, starfish, seashell and palm tree_bp

Pink and light blue base nails with a big hibiscus flower on one nail, a starfish on another, a shell on one more, and a little gold palm tree. Each finger gets its own piece of the beach and together it tells a whole story. If you’re going somewhere tropical this summer this set is the only correct choice.

Tropical Teal and Pink That Go So Well Together

27 simple tropical nail art in pink and teal_bp

Teal and sheer nails alternating, with bold pink and yellow tropical flowers painted on the sheer ones. The flowers are done in this loose brushstroke style that looks really effortless and casual. This is a great pick if you want something fun but don’t want to sit in the salon for three hours.

Rainbow French Tips Plus a Tiny Daisy Equals Perfection

28 skinny colorful french tips with a single flower on each nail_bp

Each nail has a skinny French tip in a different color, pink, yellow, purple, blue, orange, and then a little white daisy painted just below each tip. There’s something about the combination of the colorful tips and the tiny daisies that just works so well together. The skinny tip shape is what makes it feel very current and 2026.

Pastel Ombre for the Soft Girl Summer

29 Soft pastel ombre nails blending lavender, peach, and mint_bp

Lavender, peach, and mint blended together in a soft ombre, some nails solid lavender, some with a peach to mint fade, and all of them have this creamy jelly finish. It photographs beautifully in literally any light which is something I always think about. This is the nail set that looks effortless but actually takes real skill to pull off.

Cottagecore Yellow with Checks and Daisies

30 soft yellow cottagecore vibes with checkerprint and daisies_bp

Sunny yellow on some nails, a gingham checker accent nail, a sheer nail with little white daisies, and a French-tipped nail, all in the same warm yellow palette. It feels cozy and sweet and very much like something you’d wear to a picnic or a garden party. Mixing different designs in one color is such a smart way to make a set feel cohesive.

Barely-There Florals for the Minimalist in You

31 subtle neutral base with pastel florals_bp

Loose hand-painted flowers in lavender, white, yellow, and hot pink on sheer nude-pink nails with tiny green leaves here and there. The light base keeps everything feeling delicate and soft even though there’s actually quite a bit of detail. This is my favorite kind of nail art, the kind that works for literally any occasion.

Pink and Yellow Tips with Swirly Cute Accents

32 bright pink and citrus yellow color summer french tips with cute accents_bp

Hot pink and neon yellow French tips on sheer almond nails with swirly designs in both colors on the accent nails and a little white daisy on one. The tips have this slightly curved organic edge instead of a straight line which makes them look more hand-done and artsy. Summer festival energy, that’s the only way I can describe it.

Milky Daisy Nails That Go with Everything

33 Micro floral nails featuring tiny hand-painted daisies scattered across a milky white base_bp

Tiny white daisies with yellow centers all over a milky semi-sheer base and nothing else, just that, and it’s really pretty. These are the nails you can wear to work on Monday and to the beach on Saturday without them feeling out of place. Simple nail ideas that actually look good are harder to find than you’d think and this one really delivers.

Encapsulated Flowers with Aqua Nails? So Cool

34 Translucent aqua nails with encapsulated tropical flowers_bp

Aqua jelly nails with actual tropical flowers sealed inside the gel on the accent nails, so it looks like the flowers are floating inside your nails. The rest of the nails are just solid aqua which makes the flower ones really stand out. This is definitely something I’d get done at a salon because it’s not really a DIY kind of technique, but it’s so worth it.

Mushroom Nails on Forest Green Are Not What You Expected

35 Whimsical mushroom nail art on a forest green base with tiny white speckles_bp

Red and white spotted mushrooms painted on a deep forest green base with little white speckles scattered around and I know it sounds weird but it is so cute. It’s whimsical and a little cottagecore but also kind of cool at the same time, which is a balance that’s really hard to hit. This is honestly the most unexpected design on this whole list and I’m so glad I found it. Perfect funky summer nails for festivals, or just because.

Red Cherries on White: A Classic That Never Gets Old

36 White nails adorned with delicate hand-painted red cherries and tiny green leaves_bp

White glossy nails with plump red cherries and green leaves painted on every nail. It’s a classic and there’s a reason it keeps showing up every single summer, it just never goes out of style. Clean crisp cherry nail art like this always photographs so beautifully and looks good in person too.

Pink Cow Print Nails Are Giving Barbie Vibes

37 white with pink cow print_bp

White almond nails with hot pink cow print spots instead of black and it’s way more fun than regular cow print. It’s a little silly and a little playful but in that self-aware way that makes it feel very on trend right now. Every time I’d look down at my hands with these on I’d probably smile, which is all I really want from a nail set.

Cobalt Blue with White Brushstroke Art

38 Bright cobalt blue nails with abstract white brushstroke art and negative space_bp

Bold cobalt blue on most of the nails and then sheer accent nails with abstract white brushstroke swirls on them. The brushstroke style nail art is so popular right now and cobalt blue is such a confident, strong color for summer. If you want nails that look artistic and intentional this is a really great option.

Beach Nails in Blue with Gold Details

39 bright blue beach nails with gold accents, seashells and starfish_bp

Light aqua blue nails with painted ocean waves, some sheer nails with little gold star and wave details, and an accent nail with a gold shell and starfish on it. The mix of solid aqua, sheer, and detailed nails makes the whole set look really layered and elevated. It’s beach themed but it doesn’t feel cheesy at all, which is honestly the dream.
