So this time of year with the winter officially here, if you’re anything like me, getting dressed for class when it’s freezing outside is literally the worst and most confusing thing. Like, I still want to look cute, but also feel warm and cozy, and not dressed in 1 million layers (preferably).

But lucky for us I’ve been collecting some trendy winter college outfits inspo and honestly, these outfits are perfect for keeping warm without looking like you just rolled out of bed (even if you did lol). Let’s get to it then!

1. Classic Mom Jeans with Graphic Tee and Chelsea Boots

Blue mom jeans paired with a graphic tee and a long black knit coat is such a vibe for those days when you want to look put together but still comfy. The black Chelsea boots tie everything together and honestly they’re so easy to walk around campus in. This is def one of my go-to formulas when I’m running late but still want to look decent.

2. Bootleg Jeans with Flannel and Bomber Jacket

Okay so bootleg dark jeans are making a comeback and I’m here for it! Layer an oversized warm flannel shirt with a white scarf and black bomber jacket for that perfect cozy-meets-cool aesthetic. This outfit to me says “I tried but not too hard” which is basically the college motto right?

3. Wide Leg Jeans with Green Hoodie Combo

Wide leg blue jeans with a green hoodie and black jacket is super simple but it works. The proportions are really in line with the trends right now and the green adds a nice pop of color when everything else feels maybe a bit dark and gloomy in winter. Plus hoodies under jackets is just that perfect combo for staying warm.

4. Cargo Pants with Platform Boots

Grey cargo pants are having a moment and pairing them with tan platform boots, a casual sweatshirt, and khaki jacket is such a cool laid back look. The platform boots give you some height, and the whole outfit has that utilitarian vibe that’s really trendy right now. Pockets for days too which is always a useful thing to have!

5. Long Cardigan with Infinity Scarf and Uggs

Sometimes you just need maximum comfort and this long cardigan with infinity scarf, leggings and Uggs situation is it. This is perfect for those 8am classes when you literally cannot be bothered. It’s basically like wearing cozy pajamas to class and nobody can judge you for it.

6. Oversized Cream Sweater with Light Jeans

An oversized cream sweater with light blue wide leg jeans and trendy sneakers is so effortlessly cute. The neutral tones are super easy to style whilst the oversized sweater gives you that relaxed college student look. This one’s great for when you want to look nice without freezing your butt off, and it’ll go perfect with any jacket you have.

7. Tan Monochrome with Cargo Pants and Beanie

Going full tan color with cargo pants, a cozy sweater, Vans style sneakers, and a black beanie is such a mood. Monochrome outfits always look more expensive than they actually are lol. The black beanie breaks it up just enough so you don’t look too matchy-matchy. Super cute.

8. Grey Everything with Checkered Jacket

Fitted grey cargo pants with grey Converse shoes, grey hoodie and a checkered wool jacket is basically a grey lovers dream. The checkered jacket adds some visual interest so you’re not completely bland. I love how this outfit is comfortable but still has some structure to it.

9. Barrel Jeans with Cropped Turtleneck

Barrel jeans can seem kinda tricky at first if you’re not used to styling them, but when you pair them with a cropped white turtleneck, warm black jacket and Doc Martens it just works so werll! The cropped turtleneck shows just a little skin which balances out all the bulkiness of the jacket and jeans. Docs are also indestructible which is great for slushy campus sidewalks.

10. Very Long Cardigan with Crop Top

A very long cardigan over a white crop top and black straight leg pants is giving main character energy. The proportions here are really fun and the long cardigan is super cozy for walking between classes. Just make sure the crop top isn’t too cropped or you’ll freeze lol.

11. Pink Puffer Jacket Moment

Grey jeans with a pink puffer jacket, pink scarf and white beanie is such cute and feminine look. I love adding some color in winter because everything can feel so blah otherwise. The puffer jacket is obviously super warm whilst the pink makes you stand out in a sea of black coats.

12. Blue Striped Pants with White Turtleneck

Blue striped pants with a white turtleneck and warm grey coat is a little more elevated than some of these other looks. The stripes add personality, and the grey coat is classic and polished. This is great for days when you have a presentation or just want to feel a bit more dressed up.

13. Grey Longline Turtleneck with Trench Coat

A grey longline turtleneck with leggings, brown boots, baseball cap and a then tan trench coat is such a chic combo. The baseball cap adds a sporty touch and the trench coat makes you look like you have your life together even if you definitely don’t. Brown boots with leggings never fails either.

14. Skinny Jeans with Platform Boots and Puffer

Light blue skinny jeans with platform leather boots, an oversized sweater, and shiny puffer jacket is a whole lewk. The shiny puffer is trendy without being too over the top and platform boots are a must for winter in my opinion. This outfit has good proportions with the fitted jeans and oversized top.

15. Oversized Sweater with Uggs and Wool Coat

An oversized sweater with Uggs and a beige wool coat is the ultimate cozy winter outfit. Uggs get a bad rap sometimes but they’re honestly so warm and comfortable for walking around campus all day. The wool coat elevates the whole thing so you don’t look like you’re wearing pajamas (even though it basically feels like it).

16. Comfy Joggers with Pink Hoodie

Sometimes you overslept and you just need comfortable clothes to run to class – these comfy grey joggers with a pink hoodie and black puffer jacket is peak ‘i don’t care today’ athleisure. This is perfect for those days when you have class but also want to hit the gym after or just need to be comfortable. The pink adds some fun to an otherwise basic outfit.

17. Tan Pants with Oversized Denim Jacket

Tan pants with a white turtleneck and oversized denim jacket are simple but effective. Denim jackets might not seem warm enough but when you layer them right they totally work. The tan and white combo is really clean and put together without trying too hard.

18. Tee and Leggings with Faux Fur Coat

A comfy fit with a tee and leggings, grey scarf and faux fur long eggshell white coat is so extra in the best way. The faux fur coat makes even the most basic outfit underneath look fancy. Plus you’ll feel like you’re walking around in a cloud which is always nice when it’s cold as heck outside.
